Young Troy

Christmas was awesome. We had fun being with the family in the Bay Area Irelynn made out like a bandit. I saw an old friend I haven't seen in a long time. It was nice to have so much help with the girls. Nothing blog worthy happened during the week but I have the cutest pictures of young Troy for you all to appreciate thanks to his sister Shannon. Enjoy!

Dying Young

I've always thought I would die of cancer. I'm paranoid of getting it. I don't know how many different types of cancers I've already had in my mind. Each time Troy has to tell me go back to bed you don't have cancer. Well I am no long worried about dying of cancer since I am positive I will die of a heart attack. Between my husband and 2 girls who love to love to play tricks on me and worry me I'm sure my heart won't be able to last a lifetime with them. Troy loves to pretend he has been in a car accident or that Kalaya drowned or what ever he thinks would be entertaining at the time. Irelynn hasn't done anything to me YET, but she is showing signs. Troy called the other day to talk to me and she answered the phone. When he asked to talk to me she told him with a straight face "mommy isn't here she's shopping. I'm all by myself babysitting Kalaya." Kalaya as you know likes to pretend to drown. Well she has found a new game. I put her in her high chair and she started choking on some bread so I come rushing over worried that she is dying. She got it out of her throat by herself but realized that pretending to choke was a fun game to torment mom. She let's out a sound like she is choking (which sounds totally real. not like she is pretending) and she keeps her mouth opened wide looking at me with round eyes. It's weird that it is just born in them. She doesn't continue making sounds nor does she close her mouth. If she did either of those things I would know she was just joking but since she does it the way she does I feel like I have to look everytime. My poor heart....

bath time

Kalaya's new thing is to pretend like she is falling and drowning in the tub. I finally found my camera after her 20th time of doing it so she was less dramatic about it. She first started hyperventilating and then acts like she is crying when she comes up and then does it again. Then she found a cup in the tub and switched to drinking a sip from the cup and then falling backwards. I tell you this kid is CRAZY

Running in the Rain

I'm sitting in the computer room so bored. I probably should go to bed but I don't think I could sleep. Instead I sit here snooping on people's blogs I don't even know. Like Jeni's friend something wade who talked about the reason she likes to run marathons. I felt very inspired to get up and start running. I hate running. I wish I liked to run but obviously to all I don't. I was very inspired to begin for all of the 2 minutes it took me to look out the window and see the rain. Thank you rain, you just saved 2 chins and a tummy roll from disappearing into oblivion. Now back to snooping...

Santa

We went and sat on Santa's lap last night. For 3 years in a row Irelynn has cried in every picture. This year she was a trying to be brave but she did not want to sit on Santa's lap without Kalaya. Kalaya kept waving at Santa while we were in line and he was sitting on his chair. I thought she was going to be tough and not cry but she freaked out as soon as she was on his lap. Irelynn has tears in her eyes that she tried so hard not to let come out. She did a good job and was very brave. Troy and I went to the temple with Nick Takis on Tuesday night to get his endowments. It was so beautiful there. We need to go back more often

"Bruiser"

So I've decided to change Kalaya's name to Bruiser. She has no fear. I had to take Irelynn to the Dr yesterday and here's Kalaya with a black eye, bruised cheek & forehead in several spots and her teeth had just gone through her lip after jumping off of a step at Gina's house. I was so embarassed. I swear I don't beat her. I took her to the park today and she climbed up on the big kid section and then put herself down the big kid slide all by herself 4 times. If there were any openings in the big kid section no matter how high she jumped out not even worrying if I was there to catch her. She's crazy and it will be a miracle if she lives to see 2 at the rate she is going. These pictures don't do her beat up face justice. I am thinking of making her keep this helmet on all day.

The Miracle of Prayer

Grams (Troy's mom) taught Irelynn the miracle of prayer this weekend. When ever Grams sees Irelynn she usually has something for her even if it is from the dollar store. So when we arrived at Gram's house for Thanksgiving Irelynn asked her if she had something for her to take home. Grams gave her a bean bag toy which she played with for a minute but clearly was looking for something else so she asked Grams "do you have something else for me to take home?" which Grams told her no. So Irelynn pulled Grams into the bedroom and knelt down and said "Grams I want you to pray with me that there will be 2 things for me to take home!" Amazingly Grams did have a 2nd thing for Irelynn. As Cherise puts it Irelynn manipulated Grams with Jesus! Thanksgiving was awesome. It was fun to get together with the family. I will not be posting any pictures of me at Thanksgiving because I have added a 3rd chin from all the good food!

Follow up on the Bachelor

Last night was great too. Brad looked so uncomfortable sitting on that couch trying to explain why he didn't fall in love with either of the girls. Unfortunately for Brad I think he was speaking chinese as far as everyone goes. No one (me included) understood the words coming out of his mouth. It didn't make sense why he just said goodbye rather than saying let's see where this goes. He was like I have to say goodbye to you, I don't even want to see where this goes. So I looked online to see what the deal was and apparently Brad got a phone call from an exgirlfriend while he was taping the show and found out she was pregnant and they are back together now. My other favorite tv show is the biggest loser. I tape it each week in the hopes that watching people lose weight would motivate me to lose weight. I didn't get motivated last night but I did enjoy some chocolate while I watched.

The Bachelor

Anyone who did not watch the bachelor last night and still is planning on it don't read this. Last night was the greatest night in Bachelor history! When Jenny came out of the car first I was a little thrown off because she was my winning horse. Then he started talking to her and I kept waiting for the producers to cut into Deanna coming out of her car and showing the two conversations side by side leaving me in suspense... which one is he going to pick? But they didn't do that at all. Brad told Jenny he had to say goodbye to her and I was in shock and then I was pissed. I couldn't believe that he was going to pick Deanna. She was a witch in the house. And then he started talking to Deanna. He told her how much he cared about her and how he just said goodbye to Jenny and this huge smile spreds across Deanna's face because now she knows she is getting the ring (which he went and picked up that day and is sitting on the table right there) and then Brad starts to get nervous. He is trying to undo his shirt & tie and then in the middle of their conversation he starts pacing around the garden before coming back to finish what he wanted to tell her. I am thinking wow he must really be nervous about proposing right now I'll bet he tells her he is not ready to propose tonight but that they will see where their relationship goes...but I was completely wrong. He told her he had to say goodbye to her too! It was a great night for the bachelor. I can't wait until tonight when they bring the 3 of them back and Brad has to explain to their face what happened.

Last night Troy and I went on a date ALONE! We rarely go out by ourselves without kids or without other couples. We picked up togos sandwiches and went to the movies. It's too bad our date night was ruined by the horrible movie we watched. BEOWOLF. Troy didn't think it was horrible(probably because he got to see a naked Angelina Joile) I would've slit my wrists if I could've found anything sharp around. On a scale of 1-10 I give it a 3. 1-3 being never watch it 4-6 rent it and 7-10 see it in the theaters. It was ok enough to maybe wait and rent it at home however if I did that I'd probably start doing something else in the middle of the movie and never go back to finish it. I would say save your money

Princess Party

Today we celebrated Irelynn's birthday with her friends. I took them to the Beauty College dressed up like princess' and they got their hair and nails done. Irelynn was in heaven. She had a permanent grin the whole time she was in the chair. I think Denise (Troy's sister) is right she was meant to be Denise's child.

And of course no trip out of the house would be complete without Kalaya throwing a tantrum

Irelynn

Irelynn is my fashion girl which proves that babies come how they come. I grew up playing smear the queer and tackle football. I wouldn't know fashion if it bit me in the butt. She tells me "mom your hair looks ugly like that", "Taylor can you go put something else on? That's really ugly" or "Mom, Fashion girls don't throw things away." when I asked her to take something to the garbage. She has a quick wit and a fast tongue to match. Troy came home from work all dirty and discusting. Irelynn was going through a I want to be a baby too phase and had one of Kalaya's diapers on. Troy told her I am not talking to you until you take off that diaper and just as fast she said "Good! I'm not talking to you until you go change your clothes and take a shower" After father's day she told me "mom, for happy big girls days I want daddy to buy me a blue diamond necklace, blue diamond braclet and a blue diamond ring." I didn't know diamonds had different colors until a couple years ago. She was only 3, imagine how expensive she is going to be as a teenager!

Kalaya

Kalaya is my challenge in life. She has given me a whole new respect for my mom. She is strong willed and stubborn. She is a happy baby for the most part until you piss her off. Once she is mad watch out! Hide any body part of yours within reach because she'll either bite it, pinch it or pull it. She'll even resort to biting her own hand or the coffee table out of frustration. If that doesn't work she flings her self backwards and falls on the ground hitting her head. I try to discipline her. I flick her cheek if she bites, smack her hand if she hits, pinches or pulls which only makes her more angry and more determined. She'll stare me down and do whatever it was she was punished for with a look in her eyes like "what are you going to do about it lady?" Secretly I am impressed with the strength of her will and at the same time embarassed because I now have "that" kid that no parent wants around their children. What do you do?
